It’s really simple to sign up for a DateMyAge account. Unlike other online dating apps, you won’t have to fill out a lengthy profile questionnaire before you are allowed to access the network. Instead, you’ll just answer a few basic questions about yourself, and the rest can come later.

It’s worth filling out the profile, though. The more information you have filled out, the more matches you are likely to get. Nobody wants to chat with someone who is a total blank page, so it’s a good idea to fill out some of the basic questions. We like that DateMyAge makes the profile easy to use, with pop-ups, a few open questions, and clickable options for your interests.

Matchmaking & Search Functions

Unfortunately, DateMyAge does not have any sophisticated algorithm for making match suggestions. Instead, it’s a free-style dating site that lets you search the network and make contact based on your level of attraction. You can send out message blasts to multiple profiles simultaneously. But that’s the extent of matchmaking that DateMyAge gets involved with.

In terms of search functionality, DateMyAge lets you scan through profile snapshots to see if you’re interested in someone. If you are, you can click on the picture to get a closer look at their detailed profile page. Like what you see, and you can send them a message (more on that in a minute). DateMyAge also has several filters that you can use to narrow down the search results. You can select specific interests, and filter based on education level, relationship status, physical features (eye color, hair color, body type, height), and other preferences like smoking and drinking.

Features & Communication Tools

What is great about DateMyAge is that it is an international network of middle-aged singles. This is good for 2 reasons. Firstly, you are getting a more serious group of singles. Not a bunch of teenagers just looking to fool around and bounce. Second, DateMyAge introduces you to a wide spectrum of singles from all over the world, so you get a much broader dating pool to interact with. This makes for more interesting dating conversations and that intrigue that comes from speaking to a foreigner.

We really love the communication features that DateMyAge offers. Here are the ways you can reach out to other singles in the network:

Chat

You can send anyone basic chat messages. This is a regular SMS stream from within the DateMyAge network. You can also include fun emojis, presents, and more.

Email

DateMyAge even makes it more fun to work with email messaging, allowing you to set a background image to show up. So it’s not just a drab message, but has some definite personality.

Presents

You can send a love interest virtual presents. These need to be purchased via the app and can be sent through the network. There are several to choose from, and they range in the amount of credits they’ll cost.

Photos and videos

Additionally, DateMyAge lets you upload photos and videos into your chat windows. So you can send out fun photos or real-time videos to the singles in the network. And what’s more, you can receive videos. This adds an additional layer of security and helps you to get to know the other person a lot better than a basic chat conversation would.

Live stream videos

Best of all is the live stream videos feature. This feature allows you to live stream with other singles in the network. It’s like a group chat, with several singles chatting at the same time. But it’s all on live stream, making the entire experience a lot more authentic.

Safety & Security

DateMyAge has a member verification process that checks each member’s identity. There is also a moderation system that periodically scans conversations and conduct to keep the network safe. DateMyAge does recommend you practice safe internet practices as it doesn’t take responsibility for misuse, although you can report abusive or inappropriate behavior to the moderator. Profiles charged with misconduct will be removed from the system.

Pricing

Here’s where things start to get sticky. DateMyAge is not a cheap service. In fact, you have to pay for a lot of the actions you take. DateMyAge works with a credit system; the various actions you take on the site cost you a certain number of credits. For example, sending a message, sending gifts, viewing videos, etc.

Whenever you subscribe to a monthly plan, you’ll automatically get:

• 20 welcome credits
• 10 free live chat sessions
• Free first message to any member

After that, you’ll need to use your credits to take action. Here is a partial list of the actions you can take and how much they’ll cost you:

DateMyAge does have a free member service that lets you use the site for free. But the app is not clear on how you get free member status.

DateMyAge has a help center with some basic questions and answers. You can also send in an email using the online contact or call the toll-free number. Plus, there is supposedly live chat support. But we couldn’t get that to work.

Find Love on DateMyAge

All in all, DateMyAge is a good dating app. The dating network is made up of mature singles, so you aren’t wasting your time. And the international aspect definitely adds more zest to the experience. On the other hand, you’re left on your own as DateMyAge isn’t much of a matchmaker. Additionally, the service can get pricey if you aren’t careful. But if you’re looking for a straight-up network of singles (and can stay away from the enchanting virtual gifts), DateMyAge is a good choice.
